It is hard to believe that we are a week out from getting married. Everything is starting to come together and we are seeing the final products and it is so amazing! We did call the ceremony off at the falls though. The weather is looking like it is going to be slightly chilly and I won't be able to survive both the ceremony and pictures at the falls, so we are just going to do the ceremony at the Wolcott Galleria where the reception will be held. It will still be on Sat Oct 5 at 3 pm. I can't wait to see everyone. Family is already starting to arrive and it is going to be so much fun.

Hello from the United States! It feels so amazing to be actually typing this blog from my own bed in my house. :) It has been a little bit since I last updated this and so much has happened. The funny thing is I thought I wouldn't have this much to do when I got home, man was I wrong. But I am ok with it because it has kept me busy and I love how everything is turning out. I can't wait for all of you to come and see the ceremony and for me to be able to meet all of Joel's side of the family!

I am so excited that my dress is picked out and that it is currently being hemmed. I honestly can't wait to see Joel's face when he sees me. :) We have also decided on our plan B spot if the weather doesn't allow us to have the ceremony at the falls since we did pick Oct for our wedding. Eck, fingers crossed and knock on wood the weather holds out for us. Our plan B is at the reception hall and we will put it out the night before or early the day of if we plan on doing the ceremony at the reception hall. There will be signs up directing everyone to where the ceremony will be at, that way no one gets lost going to the falls if you haven't been there. Joel and I went and looked at the falls last weekend and it is going to have to be a standing only ceremony (we promise it won't be a very long ceremony). There will be some chairs out but those will be for the very young, the elderly, or those that are injured.

I am excited to say that Joel and I finally have a very small list of things that we need to accomplish before the big day. Sadly an officiant and tux's are still on that list, but fingers crossed those will be getting crossed off by the end of this week or middle of next week. Oh, and my mom is making my flower girl dresses and they are going to turn out soooo cute and look so much better than anything I could find online. I will put pictures of them on here once they are done. I can't wait. Until next time.

I haven't posted much on here because the wedding planning has kind of been at a stand still with me not being home, but since that is soon going to be changing, more posts will be added keeping you up to date on what is going on with the wedding plannin. I am excited to say that I have a date set to pick up my dress and I can't wait to try and fall in love with the dress of my dreams. All of the brides maid dresses have been ordered and we are getting ready to order the flower girl dresses. Although we are still trying to pick a second alternative for the ceremony location if the weather takes a turn for the worse, knock on wood it doesn't, we are close to deciding on a location. If we have to move the ceremony we will keep you updated on here. Thank you everyone for all of your support and help through all of this.

I have tried updating this for the last couple of months, but the wonderful internet here has been making this slightly difficult. Joel has helped me pick out the color for the bridesmaid dresses and I hope to get those ordered this coming week with the help of Lindsey and my Mom.

I am working on getting the addresses on the invitations and I will be sending those out by the end of next week. I can't wait for you to see them! I am so happy with them. I am just going to ask that you send the RSVP cards back so that we can finish planning on how many people will be showing up.

We are finalizing all of the small details for the wedding and planning side trips for our honeymoon. We are going to have a 3 hour cooking class with the head chef at the castle we are staying at for a night. Joel thinks he can out cook me. Ha! We shall see. We are also looking at having a horse back ride on the coast one day. We are so excited for the honeymoon and I can't wait for it all to start.

Joel and I have officially booked our honeymoon to Ireland! We are going to be spending 10 days exploring the island, visiting a whole bunch of castles, the Guinness brewery tour, seeing the Giant Causeway, kissing the Blarney Stone, and so much more. We have booked a night at a castle which I can't begin to express how excited I am about that. Who can say that they got to stay a night at a castle on their honeymoon? We are still working out the small details but we are all but set for our first adventure together as husband and wife.

I have sent out the first batch of our Save the Date cards. They are coming from Afghanistan, so they may take a little bit to get to everyone. I am waiting on a couple more addresses before I send out the secnd batch. We have also finally decided on what we want for invitations and will be ordering those within the week! We are still looking about a month or so before we send those out, as we want to make sure that I will be leaving Afghanistan in August like planned.

I am so excited about how fast and well everything is coming together. I really don't think I will have that much to worry about when I get home, which I am so thankful for. I have to give a big shout out to my mom, Lindsey, Gina and Hart's Tux and Gown for everything that you have done to help make things go together. Joel and I couldn't do it without you and you are my saving grace for planning this wedding.
